The BBC's first religious affairs correspondent, Douglas Brown, has died at his home in Suffolk. He was 86. Douglas Brown joined the BBC in the late fifties as a reporter, having previously worked for the Eastern Daily Press. The BBC decided to have a religious affairs correspondent some ten years later and he was appointed to the post.
