David Arscott, one-time news producer and presenter at Radio Brighton/Radio Sussex, died on November 29th while walking home through the grounds of Lewes Priory in East Sussex.
Husband of Jill. Father of Lawrence, Katy, Nancy and Louise with his former wife, Pauline. Father of Rosie, Jack and Beth with Jill. Grandfather to Anya, Zak, Ellame, Arthur, Edward, Annie, Frankie, Mary, Rachel and Charlie. A Funeral Service will take place at Trinity Church, Southover in Lewes at 11am on Friday 20th December.

He had a brief spell working in Caracas and reported for a provincial evening paper while preparing for Oxford University as a mature student. He read English at Hertford College.
His broadcasting career began in 1974 when he entered local radio and was a much-liked news producer at Radio Brighton before moving to present a daily current affairs programme. During this time he wrote and co-wrote several books, mostly Sussex history as well as his first novel which appeared in 1983.
He left the BBC and became a prolific author, guiding many new writers.
