Peter Gould
Feb 14th, 2025, 11:25pm

Respected BBC News reporter Peter Gould has died. His family have posted the following on Facebook:

A message from Peter’s family:
We are heartbroken to share the news that Peter passed away suddenly on Tuesday 11th February 2025. He was at home with his family.
We are still struggling to find the words to describe this loss: we are completely devastated to be without our wonderful, kind, funny, loving husband and father, and we miss him more than we can say.
We know some people have already heard the news, but Peter had many valued friends, collaborators, and colleagues on Facebook, so we wanted to make sure everyone knew what had happened.
Thank you for the kind words and messages we have already received. They have been a real source of comfort and solace during a terrible time, and it means a lot to us to know that Peter touched so many people’s lives.
We will share further details about the funeral in due course and we would be grateful if you could reach out to people who knew Peter who might not see this message.
With much love,
Julie, Ellen & Jamie

The family are requesting people wear something blue on the day.
"Many will know that Peter was 'a Red' (a lifelong Liverpool fan!) but blue is the colour most associated with him. 💙
We look forward to seeing those of you who can make it, on the 20th."
