About us - the noticeboard for former BBC staff This is a volunteer-run, non-profit-making site to put former colleagues in touch with each other and to give them a place to exchange thoughts and memories. The site was created by former members of the staff of the BBC News Online web site. The forums are managed by volunteer moderators. If you have an idea for a new forum, or would like to become a moderator, please e-mail the Forum Administrator You can simply read the postings on the various forums, or register and post messages yourself. Registration is free, quick and easy. Posting messages will not enable anyone to make direct contact with you, unless you so wish. Feel free to use your own name or choose a nickname. You can also check a box to have your e-mail address hidden. You can browse the forums or register and join the community of former BBC colleagues. Once you have joined you can alter your profile adding a photograph or image and a personal motto or slogan. The forum allows you to respond to an issue already being debated or start a fresh thread. You can also check a box to have an automated e-mail sent to you informing you when someone responds to your post or an existing issue being debated. Full details of all the system can offer are contained in the help files. A useful feature of the forum is the ability to send private messages to other registered users. In the "Forums" section, click on "Members", then on the name of the member you want to contact. At the bottom of that person's member profile, click on "Send this member a private message".
